Online therapy has become very popular in recent years and can be useful for helping with many types of issues – e.g. Anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, life changes etc.
I find the people I work with benefit from the convenience of being able to access therapy in this way, and can sometimes bring issues that might feel difficult at a face-to-face meeting. I treat everyone as an individual and after a short assessment it is usually possible to set something up quite quickly. I have experience and training in working with these mediums which often helps when talking through the practicalities and process.
There are several forms of online therapy and at the moment I am offering the following;
Fees – I ask £50 per email exchange, £75 for a 50 minute/ £50 for a 30 minute Instant message exchange, and £75 for a one hour webcam session. Packages of sessions (e.g. 5 or 10) are available at a reduced rate, please feel free to enquire.
My doctoral research was exploring the therapeutic relationship in email counselling and this experience has given me an insight into the fascinating world of online relationships. Developing a good and trusting relationship is crucial in all therapies, and although there are some differences in working online the principles also apply here. To ensure I am working ethically with the most up to date theory and research I have also had further training into online counselling and abide by guidelines issued by several professional bodies (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy & The Association for Counselling and Therapy Online).
Lots of people are now found on the internet both professionally and personally. I further provide a digital policy to explain how I maintain safety and boundaries.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss this possibility.
